Minnesota Fishing Guide Tom Neustrom Always Gets Clients The Fish

Tom Neustrom has spent 32 years as a professional fishing guide and promoter of the fishing industry. One of Minnesota’s top fishing guides, he is well-known for providing customers with memorable fishing trips with excellent walleye fishing, trophy northern pike, bass, muskies, jumbo perch and crappies.

Guiding on more than 35 lakes throughout Northern Minnesota, Tom makes his home in Grand Rapids, MN. Lake Winnibigoshish (or Lake Winnie as the locals call it), Leech Lake, Cass Lake, Bowstring Lake, Sand Lake, Pokegama Lake, and Upper Red Lake are a few examples of where Tom frequently takes clients on guided fishing trips.

The majority of the open water season is spent guiding customers, outdoor writers, and sponsors to memorable days on the lakes and rivers of Northern Minnesota. Off the water and ice, Tom spends much of his time leading fishing seminars, writing articles, doing in-store promotions, attending Minnesota DNR meetings, and conducting a fishing school in an effort to share his fishing expertise with others.

Tom has been recognized by In-Fisherman, North American Fishing Club, Fishing Facts Magazine, and Minnesota Sportsman as one of the top walleye fishing guides in the country. Working closely with numerous publications, Tom writes constantly and enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise in the sport of fishing with thousands of readers.

Since 1992 Tom has hosted “Guides Corner” heard on KMFY-FM radio from Grand Rapids, Minnesota. It is a forum that allows Tom to reach thousands of anglers with current fishing reports and strategies to catch the “big ones”. Tom works very hard for his sponsors and professionally promotes their products as one of the most respected professional anglers in his field.

In February 2009, Tom was inducted as a “Legendary Guide” into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wisconsin. Tom was very humbled by his selection and is very proud of the recognition by clients, sponsors and his peers who recommended him for the honor.

Tom has been appointed to the Minnesota DNR Fishing Roundtable, Red Lake Advisory Council, and the State Walleye Advisory Committee. His expertise, dedication and passion for the sport he loves continuely pushes him down a path of preserving and enhancing the opportunities for every angler to have positive memories of days on the water. Tom believes we should all be stewards of the waters we fish and be responsible for making fishing better.

Tom has made a career of the sport he loves through dedication to learning new techniques, his willingness to share his knowledge and his commitment to conservation. He believes by giving back to the sport that has given him so much he can impact the future of fishing in Minnesota for years to come.
